Issue 05: Brave New Worlds

The stories in Issue 05 meet at the confluence of place, people, and passion. Ellie Prentice presents a deeply thoughtful reflection on the Missouri River’s muddy logic, while Kat Wilson’s Habitats series of photos form a portrait of a very diverse Arkansas. We take you through brave new landscapes, from fly-fishing on the White River, to a Juneteenth celebration in historically Black towns in Oklahoma. We go on a wild, criminal ride on a Bobcat trailer and visit the loess hills of Iowa, where a “minor god” duped dozens of his followers and puzzles pilgrims to this day.
